Rimmel Hard Edged

Hellooooo! Did you forget about me?

College has been crazy thus far. Well, I haven't actually gotten to the college part of college, just the orientation part. But the orientation part has been crazy. ;) I promise to start blogging more regularly now.

Today I've got Rimmel Hard Edged for you. Hard Edged is a fantastic color. I stupidly let this sit in my untried pile for a few months, because I thought it was just going to be plain brown. Umm, wrong! Look at this next picture.

Um, hello? It gets all sparkly and awsome in the sunlight! The sparkly stuff is purple. Yay! Plus there's a slight green duochrome both in shade and sunlight. I just couldn't capture it on my camera. Boo.

Hard Edged applied very nicely, I was done in 2 coats.

Well, I'm off to practice piano. I've got a piano audition in 1 1/2 hrs. It's no biggie, just an audition for piano lessons, but I haven't played in a week, and don't want to be rusty. I've also got a choir audition at 3, which hopefully will go alright. I lost my voice the other night after screaming a lot at an orientation event. I haven't sung yet today, but I'm hoping that when I DO sing, it will sound better than it did yesterday. Yesterday, when I opened my mouth to sing, nothing came out. It was horrible! I had completely forgotten that I shouldn't be screaming since I had a choir audition ... so I paid for my stupidness. I'm hoping that if I still do stuck today, I can explain it to the choir man and get a later audition time or something. I really want to get into choir!

OPI I Pink I Love You: A Branching Out

Ok y'all, just look at what I have on my nails. Sheer pink! I know! So shocking, right? If you've read this blog for more than five minutes you'll find that I'm really not a fan of sheers at all. I find them yucky and boring. Why wear a sheer when you can wear blue or green? :)
But I saw this polish on display at HEB (my grocery store), and thought that it looked like a really clean, nice sheer and that maybe I should just try it. So I did. I Pink I Love You is from OPI's current crop of Soft Shades, the Fairytale Bride series, and is a sheer very pale milky pink with a slight blue duochrome. I think that this would be awesome to wear at a conservative workplace and be all like, "Yes I'm wearing sheer pink b/c you're stupid and won't let me wear cool colors, but I'm also wearing a pink/blue DUOCHROME! Mwahahaha!" Haha, can y'all tell that I would do really badly in a conservative workplace? Here's me (futile-y) trying to get a picture of the blue flash.
Now, I was all set to be pretty happy with my sheer when I saw Scrangie's swatch of it. Do y'all see how much more colorful Scrangie's swatch is than mine? What's up with that? I put 3 coats on, so I don't think that I just neglected to put on enough coats to build opacity. I even went back and looked at the bottom of my bottle to see if I had actually gotten the right polish. Nope, I got the right one. So now I'm wishing I had Scrangie's bottle and not mine. Boo!
I wore my princess ring today with I Pink I Love You ... it made me feel like I should be wearing a dress, hat and gloves, and taking tea in the garden. :)

Zoya Ki

Zoya Ki is a DUOCHROME, y'all! My very first one. :)
Ki is a strong duochrome of ashy (meaning, for me, gray-ish), rather dark purple and forest-y green. The purple is dominant, with the green coming out in dim or florescent lighting.

Here is a blurry picture showing the green. I'd place the green as somewhere inbetween China Glaze Gussied-Up Green and China Glaze Wagon Trail.
I was really happy that the duochrome was so strong. Everyone can tell immediately that you are wearing a freaking awesome color on your nails. I got lots of oohs and ahhhs, and how-cool-is-that!s at work yesterday. :)
