Rimmel Hard Edged

Hellooooo! Did you forget about me?

College has been crazy thus far. Well, I haven't actually gotten to the college part of college, just the orientation part. But the orientation part has been crazy. ;) I promise to start blogging more regularly now.

Today I've got Rimmel Hard Edged for you. Hard Edged is a fantastic color. I stupidly let this sit in my untried pile for a few months, because I thought it was just going to be plain brown. Umm, wrong! Look at this next picture.

Um, hello? It gets all sparkly and awsome in the sunlight! The sparkly stuff is purple. Yay! Plus there's a slight green duochrome both in shade and sunlight. I just couldn't capture it on my camera. Boo.

Hard Edged applied very nicely, I was done in 2 coats.

Well, I'm off to practice piano. I've got a piano audition in 1 1/2 hrs. It's no biggie, just an audition for piano lessons, but I haven't played in a week, and don't want to be rusty. I've also got a choir audition at 3, which hopefully will go alright. I lost my voice the other night after screaming a lot at an orientation event. I haven't sung yet today, but I'm hoping that when I DO sing, it will sound better than it did yesterday. Yesterday, when I opened my mouth to sing, nothing came out. It was horrible! I had completely forgotten that I shouldn't be screaming since I had a choir audition ... so I paid for my stupidness. I'm hoping that if I still do stuck today, I can explain it to the choir man and get a later audition time or something. I really want to get into choir!

My Experiment With A Likeable French Nail

Y'all know that I hate french nails, right? But for some reason, I've been majorly wanting to do a red french. I saw them on a girl at the library a few months ago, and thought it looked really fresh and cool. The usual French's irritate me to no end, but this one seemed different. Soo, using Rimmel Passian and OPI I Pink I Love You, I concocted my own version of a red French nail.
And there it is. Granted, it is very messy - don't even look at my ring finger please - but I'm pretty happy with the results. I used one coat of Passion (I chose Passion b/c it's very opaque in one coat), then a coat of I Pink I Love You. However, I didn't like the blurred look that gave the red line, so I added another coat of Passion on top, then some Seche Vite. Pretty easy, except for the actual drawing on of the french tip. Haha! I know that the beauty magazines say to use tape as a guideline, but I tried that back in my dark ages of nails (i.e., before I became obsessed with all things nails and a hater of French nails) and it didn't work so great.
Keeping a steady line is difficult, especially on the non-dominant hand. I'm left handed, so y'all always get the picture of my badly applied hand. I've gotten pretty adept at painting with my right hand (I'm am extremely left handed, I can barely do anything with my right hand ... just manoevering a computer mouse, haha), but the French tip escaped me. O well, better luck next time. I'd like to try this with black sometime soon.

Rimmel Climax

Um, I may have bought a few Rimmels when I was @ the grocery store (emergency chocolate run!) the other day. Make that 3. I got Princess Pink, Climax, and Hard Edged (I've owned Passion, which I posted about the other day, for a while). I went to the nail polish section specifically to get a sheerish pink. I KNOW, blasphemy. But I've got Flute Festival on Saturday, and I want the judges attention on my flute skills, not my fingers. :( Since I didn't have any sheers, I had to shop. But I wasn't about to spend over $5 for a sheer, since I'll probly only wear it once. Haha! I thought Rimmel'd be a good choice since they kind of have funky shades and only cost $2.50. You'll see Princess Pink come Friday (or Saturday depending on how lazy I am ...).

But for now, look @ Climax! Naughty name, pretty color. Y'all know I'm a sucker for purples. I'm a bit irritated with this picture, it's the best of the bunch but doesn't capture the color correctly. In real life Climax has quite a bit more pink in it. The shade in the picture is lavendar, but I'd really call this a lilac. A dreamy lilac! It is so pretty. The finish isn't super shiny ... but I really like it. It makes me think of satin ... lilac satin! Mmmm.

p.s. I'm thinking that this is the color China Glaze IDK would be if it wasn't a holo. What do you think?

Rimmel Passion

And we take a brief break from the China Glaze madness to bring you Rimmel 60 Seconds Vinyl Shine Nail Polish in Passion. I was just really feelin' like a very bright red, and I didn't get any of those in my CG haul.
Rimmel isn't kidding when they say it takes 60 seconds to dry ... it might even be 30 seconds. Coverage was perfect in one coat. I used two, as I find that one coat gives more chips than 2. The brush kind of dragged on the second coat. Beautiful creamy poppy red though. It's got quite an orange glow to it in the sunlight. You may have noticed that this picture was not taken in the sun like normal, the sun refused to come out today. Boo.
I've lately been craving red polish ... I know, weird, right? I normally find red really boring! But all of a sudden, I'm like, 'RED, I want RED!' I'm so weird. :) What I really want is a beautiful red jelly. Do y'all have any suggestions?
